Newline Anglia are a family run hygiene and cleaning supplier based in Royston. We are currently seeking an experienced, highly organised and reliable finance assistant to join our collaborative and friendly team. This is a varied role covering all aspects of the day to day finance function within the business. You'll have a keen eye for detail, a high level of accuracy, and be a confident self starter with the ability to work independently. This is a part time role with some flexibility in terms of working hours. Approx. 16-20 per week over 4 days.
The role:
- Day to day management of the purchase ledger
- Processing supplier invoices and payments
- Resolving supplier invoice queries
- Reconciling supplier statements and bank accounts
- Day to day management of sales ledger
- Dealing with customer account queries
- Credit control and review of customer credit terms and limits
- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Support month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Support with payroll function and records
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting financial reporting
- Assisting with general finance and admin duties as needed
- Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and support wider month-end close processes
About You:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role essential
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience in accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A team player with strong communication abilities
- AAT qualification or working towards (desirable, or qualified by experience)
