As a Software Architect, or an experienced developer looking to take the next step, you will be working across the defence portfolios, you'll play a key role in developing the technical roadmap to support the wider strategy, identify exploitation paths between technical products, and ensuring that all software solutions meet their technical requirements.

You'll work with a diverse team, providing technical input into project planning and work package definition, producing technical responses and proposals on bids and enquiries, and work with internal and external stakeholders to capture, analyse and manage requirements in line with product and technical roadmaps.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining overall configuration management of products,
  • Development of model-based architecture views of software systems and products.
  • Providing technical input into the planning of the projects, including work package definition, population and grooming of development backlogs.
  • Producing engineering plans to facilitate the effective and consistent project delivery, including the tailoring of company processes and incorporating lessons learned to suit needs of the programme area.
  • Management of requirements verification cases for acceptance, and to attain where required certification, qualification or type approval.
  • Act as independent technical governance for software products and software elements of complex multi-discipline systems
  • Produce technical responses and proposals

The skills you need

  • Proven experience of managing the configuration of software products and development of software architecture models for products
  • Experience of working at TA level, governance of software elements of projects, software products and software elements of complex systems
  • Experience of managing requirements and verification cases for certification and qualification
  • Experience of developing model-based (UML) architecturesof software systems
  • "T" shaped, broad experience of diverse technologies with areas of deeper expertise
  • Knowledge and experience of working with real-time systems is preferable
