Shift Engineer

As a Shift Engineer you are responsible for keeping my clients hotel facilities in optimum operating condition by performing preventive maintenance and repairs

£29,000 plus service charge (last year it was £9K)

You will need experince as a Shift Engineer in a hospitality environment

Working 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis.

Shift patterens 8-4:30pm & 11:30-8pm (Monday to Friday) 9-5:30pm (Saturday & Sunday)

  • Maintains heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment in optimal operating condition by performing routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Adjusts air conditioning air pressure as necessary
  • Operates, maintains and repairs boilers to provide desired heating throughout the hotel
  • Insures that hotel is supplied with adequate power by reading and operating gas, water, and electrical meters
  • Works in a safe manner and maintains cleanliness and order in the hotel's power plant areas
  • Keeps adequate level of supplies required for hotel maintenance and notifies Chief Engineer of equipment and supply requirements
  • Works with outside contractors as necessary to assist them in performing maintenance or construction jobs
  • Contributes to the hotel's preparedness in case of fire emergency, by participating in the hotel fire brigade
  • Checks fire extinguishers regularly and operates them as needed
  • Inspects and performs preventive maintenance on the hotel's life safety systems
  • Handles master keys in accordance with corporate standards for the overall safety of the hotel
  • Maintains rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed.
  • Repairs televisions, phones, radios, etc..
  • Replaces or repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as needed
  • Maintains the overall appearance of the room
  • Performs preventive maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel, including both front and back of house
  • Repairs carpet, marble and tiles.
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported appropriately immediately
  • Fully understands the hotel's fire, emergency, and bomb procedures
  • Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
  • Supports a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws and regulations
  • Actively promote and develop Fire Safety at all times
  • Carry out regular Fire Alarm Tests & Evacuations according to legal requirements and company policy
  • To report any dangerous equipment or procedures to the Maintenance Manager

As a shift engineer you will be reproting into Maintance Manager.
