My client is recruiting for an Employment Solicitor of 2PQE+ to join their expanding team in the Southampton area. The firm are very highly renowned and recognised as a leading firm by both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. This is an exciting opportunity as you will be working with the head of employment, also a ranked "Leading Lawyer" in the Legal 500.

The workload is a mixture of contentious and non-contentious cases, on all aspects of employment law, working with both employers and employees, local and nationally. Their clients include some of the largest financial, automotive and technology companies in the UK, across their multiple offices throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert advice and guidance to client on a wide range of employment law issues.
  • Conducting negotiations, mediations and settlement discussions on behalf of clients.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Advising on disciplinary and grievance matters, redundancy procedures and employment dismissals.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in employment legislation and proactively advising clients on the implications for their business.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2years' PQE in employment law.
  • Experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Contentious desired but not essential.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment legislation case law, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide commercially-focused advice to clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
