Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Enfield (Hybrid)

Contract: 3 Months

Rate: £20 per hour

We are seeking a diligent and adaptable Finance Assistant to join the Housing Advisory Service of a local authority on a temporary 3-month contract. This role offers a competitive rate of £20 per hour and the flexibility of a hybrid working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on expenditure, salaries, and budget within the Housing Advisory Service.
  • Assist the management team in making costed decisions by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with service teams to manage financial aspects of the Housing Advisory Service Work Plan.
  • Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide support for any ad hoc financial projects or initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a finance role, preferably within a housing or public sector environment.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
