We are seeking a Data Analyst to take full ownership of data analytics within my client's organisation. This role is pivotal in driving Business Intelligence and delivering actionable insights through a data-centric approach. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, manage the entire data lifecycle, and ensure data is effectively utilised for informed decision-making.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Engage in requirement elicitation and stakeholder management to understand data needs.
  • Drive actionable data projects and reports from inception to execution to support departmental decision-making.
  • Analyse and interpret data to identify trends and provide strategic insights.
  • Utilise PowerBI for data visualisation, DAX code, and MQuery to create impactful reports.
  • Implement best practices for PowerBI governance and data security.
  • Regularly manage and update reports to reflect changing requirements.
  • Use SQL to build comprehensive reports and views.
  • Contribute to database design and optimisation, including schema development and table denormalisation.
  • Expand the data lake by integrating third-party systems and managing ETL processes.
  • Develop code-based pipelines using Azure technologies, with a preference for Python.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in SQL, including Microsoft SQL Server Management Studios and SSIS packages.
  • Strong experience with CSVs, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Ability to structure data efficiently for optimisation in data visualisation.
  • Practical experience with DAX and Python.
  • Familiarity with Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus.
  • Knowledge of reporting software SSRS and data visualisation with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Excellent communication, technical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to act as a technical liaison with vendors of third-party systems.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with a focus on data cleansing, analysis, and privacy.
  • In-depth knowledge of database design and the data lifecycle.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to present data and insights innovatively.
