Job Title: Chargehand / CNC Operator

Location: Outskirts of Ashford (must be a driver due to location)

Salary: £13.00 - £14.00

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.30pm

Role Summary:

You will be responsible for maintaining the daily line performance, product specification and quality standards set by the company while adhering to all site safety procedures at all times.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Maintain the daily line performance, product specification and quality standards set by the company
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, milling, etc.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues.
  • Adjust machine settings to optimise performance and ensure product quality.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to achieve production goals.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in a standing position for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • You must drive due to location
  • A flexible approach to working hours will be necessary.
  • You will need to be self-driven, think for yourself and be a proven problem solver.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
