Position: Full-Time Year 2 Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Chesterfield Primary School
Start Date: 21st October 2024 (or earlier if possible)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract: Maternity Cover (One Calendar Year)
About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time Teacher to join our friendly and vibrant primary school in Chesterfield. This position is to cover maternity leave in our Year 2 class for one calendar year. You will be working with a lively and enthusiastic group of Year 2 children, supporting them with all aspects of the curriculum, particularly in phonics.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (ECT) to develop their skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating lessons across the curriculum, with a strong focus on phonics.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.
- Support children's learning and development, both academically and socially.
- Assess, track, and report on the progress of pupils in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of phonics and its delivery in the classroom.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate children.
