Children & Families Service Outreach Worker

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Children & Families Service Outreach Worker for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will lead community outreach efforts, supporting families to access early education services, while working closely with schools and childcare providers to ensure effective use of funding and increase the take-up of free childcare places.

About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Support primary schools in maximising their Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) by helping them market and fill early years places.
  • Conduct outreach to raise awareness of free early education places and promote services through children and family centres.
  • Assist families in choosing appropriate early years settings, accompanying them if needed, and supporting them through the placement process.
  • Organise and deliver drop-in information sessions and outreach activities in community settings such as clinics, markets, and schools.
  • Support parents and childcare settings with queries related to FEEE funding eligibility and help resolve related issues.

About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience delivering outreach services in disadvantaged communities.
  • Practical experience working with families in community or early years settings.
  • Experience collaborating with schools, Children and Family Centres, and childcare providers.
  • Experience in supporting families with early education and childcare applications, including navigating the placement process.

What's on offer:
Salary: £20+ph

  • may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Part Time, 17.5 hours
