Do you have a passion for Sustainability and want to lead and support the delivery of Sustainability strategies across the group, and specifically on the delivery of our near-term target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030? If so, this is the role for you! Reporting into our Technical and Sustainability Manager, you will focus specifically on the delivery of our Environmental Leadership initiatives across the group.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist on the implementation of environmental strategies, policy, and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development
  • Lead Sustainability working groups to identify opportunities to reduce carbon, minimise waste and conserve natural resources.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental reporting requirements (EPR, WEEE, ESOS, Plastic Tax) and stay informed of all upcoming legislation.
  • Collaborate with external Sustainability Consultants to continuously improve the data quality of our carbon inventory over Scopes 1,2 and 3.
  • Research sustainability initiatives and offer sustainability subject matter expertise on medium-long term legislative impacts and opportunities related to sustainability for the group
  • Audit, analyse and report environmental data to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that Sustainable practises are adopted throughout the value supply chain leading to reduced carbon emissions and waste.
  • Champion Sustainability Initiatives and evaluate the impacts of projects within the Group
  • Promote environmental best practice and support environmental awareness campaigns across the Group.
  • Assist writing copy for annual reports, websites, and newsletters.

Knowledge and Experience Required

Essential

  • Self-motivation, resilience, and a positive change champion
  • Specific knowledge of (EPR, WEEE, ESOS, Plastic Tax)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excel knowledge to Intermediate Level
  • Passion for environmental and sustainability issues
  • Experience in supporting an environmental agenda in an organisation
  • Initiative-taker - comfortable working autonomously and with colleagues at all levels to deliver value
  • Attention to detail and precise record keeping skills

Desirable

  • Good understanding and experience of procurement practices & logistics operations
  • Specific knowledge of SECR and TCFD reporting requirements
  • A sustainability related degree - Environmental Sciences or similar
