Accountant

Reed Finance are seeking a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) to lead the transition from an external accountancy practice to an internal function for a diverse group of companies. This role is crucial and will handle financial operations across multiple businesses and sectors.
Initially this role is expected on a fixed term contract basis of either 6 or 12 months, however could well because permanent following this.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Take over the accounting responsibilities from the external accountancy practice.
- Manage bookkeeping and final accounts preparation using accounts systems.
- Work closely with the management team to streamline financial processes.
- Actively participate in the reduction, streamlining, and winding down of selected companies to focus on core businesses.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards across all active companies.
- Provide strategic financial insights to aid in decision-making and business growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant with a solid background in managing multiple company accounts.
- Proficient in using Sage for bookkeeping and TaxCalc for final accounts.
- Experience in handling financial operations across various sectors.
- Strong organisational skills to manage accounts for a large group of companies.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with different stakeholders within the group.
- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
