CNC Turner - Late Shift / Leighton Buzzard / £30k-£37k + Night Shift Premium
Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to work for a well-established local manufacturing business? Do you have a passion for precision engineering, an excellent understanding of the turning process, and the ability to work to tight tolerances and surface finishes? Our client is a long-established business specializing in the manufacture of low-volume, high-quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors, including Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Defense industries. Due to continuous expansion, we are actively hiring for an experienced CNC Turner to join our engineering team.
Location / Hours:
- Leighton Buzzard
- Monday to Wednesday: 4:30 pm - 3:30 am
- Thursday: 4:30 pm - 1:30 am
Requirements:
- Proven experience in programming, setting, and operating 2-axis turning machines.
- Ability to write new CNC programs long-hand at the machine with minimal supervision.
- Experience in editing prewritten programs, full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Proficient in in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
- Capable of producing one-off, low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
- Excellent working knowledge of 2-axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
- Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
- Experience with Fanuc controls is advantageous.
- Strong work history within the manufacturing industry in a machine shop environment.
- Hands-on, quality-driven, positive, and self-motivated manner.
- Confident in working on parts up to Ø300mm x 3m in length, with provided lifting equipment. Hoist training will be provided.
Salary / Benefits:
- Salary: £30k-£37k per annum (depending on experience) + night shift premium (time plus one third).
- Full-time, permanent position with an immediate start available.
