Empowering Learning are looking for a Supply Teacher available for work in Nottingham and the surrounding areas. For the right candidate a guaranteed pay scheme will be available.The ideal candidate should have experience of working with SEND children, though this is not essential. The ability to teach a range of age groups and individual needs would be highly advantageous. QTS is essential.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a teacher looking to provide quality supply teaching, a teacher in semi-retirement or someone looking for additional flexibility in their working lives.
The ideal candidate will:
- QTS
- Have the ability to teach across the age groups.
- Ability and experience of working with SEND/SEMH pupils.
- Knowledge of secondary age curriculum expectations
- Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
- Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
- Have excellent behaviour management skills
- Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Providing quality teaching and learning.
- Following planning mapped out for staff by heads of department.
- Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
- Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
- Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
- Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
- Possible supervising on lunch and break times
- Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
- Building relationships with staff and pupils
- Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
- Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
- Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
