Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: North West England, Lancashire, Blackburn (Office Based)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 Per annum

Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Verify and reconcile invoices, statements, and payments
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries
  • Assist with month-end closing activities
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
  • Assist with audits and provide documentation as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

  • A relevant accounting qualification or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Additional certifications in accounting or finance

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role in Blackburn, Lancashire
  • Normal working hours, Monday to Friday
  • Potential for occasional overtime during month-end or audit periods
