£50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on relevant experience)

Cedar have partnered with a well-known PE-backed property business who are in search of a talented part qualified Property Accountant with solid service charge experience to join their thriving team.
The successful candidate must have previous property experience and be studying towards ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service charge Maintenance: Assist with the upkeep of complex service charge estates, including NIA & density calculations.
- Budget Preparation: Prepare service charge budgets and calculate service charges for tenants.
- Expenditure Review: Review service charge expenditure, investigate variances against the budget, and request forecasting adjustments as needed. Present service charge data at budget meetings with budget holders.
- Year-End Reconciliation: Administer the year-end reconciliation process.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with Estate/Building Managers and head office staff to ensure the timely delivery of monthly reports to Directors and external clients.
- Estate Expansion Management: Proactively manage the rapid expansion of the estate and associated Yardi configuration set up.
- System Development: Assist with system development and process automation of estate service charges.
- Account Reconciliation: Review Tenant Recovery & Landlord Recovery accounts and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Liaison with Accounts Teams: Collaborate with Management Accounts and Financial Accounts on group reporting, financial statements, and external audits.
- Quarterly Reconciliation: Conduct quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assist the Financial Controller in presenting financial results to Group Finance on a quarterly basis.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in property accounting, particularly in managing service charges.
- Studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Strong understanding of NIA & density calculations.
- Excellent budget preparation and expenditure review skills.
- Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
