The purpose of the GIS Technician will be to work collaboratively within a design and build team in the delivery of GIS outputs of multiple projects.
This is an involved role, using QGIS as well as internal custom built tooling, to work with a variety of large GIS datasets
This role will provide you with the opportunity to expand on your existing GIS and data management skills and provide you with excellent long-term potential to advance your career.
Skills & Experience Required
- 12 months+ commercial GIS experience
- ArcGIS and QGIS GIS experience
- Knowledge of using GIS software for data capture and manipulation
- A good eye for detail to ensure the captured data is highly accurate first-time round
- Knowledge of spatial data formats and standards
- An understanding of geographic business intelligence
- Experience with Python would be beneficial
- Highly analytical mind set and a 'first time right' attitude
- Proactively keep up to date with advances in the GIS community
- Ability to knowledge share and bring new ideas to the team
- Excellent communication skills
