Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a small finance team at a professional business near Okehampton. This is a super opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to grow and further develop experience in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting duties.
- Updating daily cash forecast, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Bank reconciliations, and supplier statement reconciliations.
- Assisting with purchase and sales ledgers as needed.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assisting with monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and income reconciliations.
- Assisting with management of cashflow.
- Posting accounting journals and maintaining supporting schedules
- Assisting with budget/forecast analysis and sales analysis.
- Supporting year end accounts preparation
- Assisting with systems and process improvements.
Salary: £30,000pa.

Location: On site role
Hours: Full time, Mon - Fri, some flexibility on start and finish.
Start Date: Immediate start available although not essential.
Assistant Accountant - The Person:
- The successful candidate will have a proactive, friendly personality and enjoy being in a busy, varied role.
- Recent accounts experience including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations is essential. Ideally, you'll have some knowledge of month end duties.
- AAT part-qualified or similar is desirable, but experience and attitude are more important!
- You will need to be organised and able to work using your own initiative.
- A desire to learn and grow your accounts knowledge and skills.
- IT skills including Sage, knowledge of Sage 200 is a bonus!
