Job Title: Detailer - Architectural Metalwork & Structural Steelwork Specialist
Location: Rochester, Kent
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
About Us: My client is an established Architectural Metalwork & Structural Steelwork specialist located in Rochester, Kent. They are currently seeking a Detailer to join their team with an excellent starting salary and opportunities for career progression. The position is based in their new office within the company facility.
Role Responsibilities:
- Producing Drawings: Create accurate and detailed General Arrangement (GA) drawings in both 2D and 3D formats to support project needs.
- Detailing & Fabrication: Develop precise detailing and fabrication drawings, ensuring all specifications and requirements are met.
- Collaboration: Work closely with structural engineers and architects to integrate design elements and resolve technical issues.
- Site Visits: Conduct occasional site visits to gather measurements, engage with clients, and ensure that designs are accurately implemented on-site.
- Documentation: Issue comprehensive drawings, material lists, cutting lists, and component lists to facilitate the manufacturing and construction process.
- Design Tracking: Log revisions on design trackers and keep all relevant parties informed of any changes or updates to designs.
- Communication: Inform the design manager and commercial team of any design variations, ensuring smooth workflow and project consistency.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proficiency in Advanced Steel (Autodesk): Must be highly skilled in using Advanced Steel software for creating detailed and accurate drawings.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Structural Steelwork and Architectural Metalwork, with a strong portfolio of projects involving balconies, canopies, and balustrade systems.
- Technical Understanding: Deep understanding of the technical aspects and requirements of structural steelwork and metalwork projects.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to produce comprehensive drawings, material lists, cutting lists, and component lists with high accuracy.
- Design Revisions: Experience in logging revisions and tracking design changes systematically.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with the design manager, commercial team, and clients regarding design variations and project updates.
- IT Skills: Proficient in general IT skills, including the use of design software and office applications.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and address their needs.
