Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Start date: ASAP, to run to the end of Term 6
We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and innovative team at a primary school in the Medway area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Intervention, Special Educational Needs (SEN), and one-to-one support, contributing to the provision of an excellent learning environment for students across Key Stage 1, covering EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 at the discretion of the lead teachers.
Day to day of the role:
- Delivering targeted interventions to groups or individual pupils to support their learning and development.
- Working closely with the SENCO to implement tailored education plans for students with special educational needs.
- Providing one-to-one support to pupils, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of interventions and one-to-one support sessions.
- Collaborating with teachers to facilitate a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of intervention strategies and SEN support.
- Experience in providing one-to-one assistance to students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children.
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are highly desirable.
