Our client a property management firm, are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions within their company, to ensure effective control of assets and liabilities and compliance with accounting regulations. This role is pivotal in driving financial reporting and providing accurate, timely, and consistent information to Directors and external stakeholders.

Day to day of the role:

  • Manage the finance department operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury management.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial information, including monthly and quarterly management accounts, KPI reports, year-end financial accounts for audit, and annual budgets.
  • Conduct analysis and benchmarking of data, highlighting key performance metrics, variances, and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and implement financial safeguards and controls to deter fraudulent activity.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure timely reconciliation and remittance to HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Oversee payroll processing, reconciliation, and annual returns of P11d, PSA, and other reports.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain consistent best practice and effective documentation housekeeping for full legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Administer and maintain IT systems with assistance from the IT department.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department, utilising technology and automation where possible.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant either ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance experience, ideally as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller, preferably within the property management industry.
  • Strong technical skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
