The company is a leading provider of high quality Aviation component maintenance, manufacture and design, renowned for our commitment to innovation, excellence and safety. As we embark on an exciting growth trajectory, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Head of Compliance, Quality & Safety to join our team.

The Head of Compliance, Quality & Safety will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of regulatory compliance, quality and safety across our operations. This position is pivotal as we expand our market footprint, ensuring our growth is underpinned by safety and compliance while maintaining a strong commercial focus.

The successful candidate will join our well-established Part 145 Commercial MRO Company on a permanent basis in the UK. It is required to be acceptable to the UK CAA and EASA as a nominated post holder.

  • Implementing and continuously improving the Quality and Safety System
  • Development and maintenance of the Company Quality System policies and procedures
  • Maintaining the independence of the quality department/s ensuring compliance with EASA Part 145
  • Maintaining present knowledge of EASA Part 145/147, Part M and Part 21, Subpart G and SMS Risk based management
  • Day to day admin and control of the Quality Department and Audit Programme
  • Admin of Company manuals in respect of all bases
  • Negotiating with the CAA, EASA, FAA and other airworthiness authorities on behalf of the Company
  • Maintaining and management of the Company MOE, POE and QMS
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of EASA Part 145, 147, Part M and Part 21, Subpart G and SMS Risk based management
  • Conducting investigations and preparing reports on quality, technical and maintenance issues as appropriate
  • Oversee Health and Safety and ensure Policy is adhered to in the areas of responsibility
  • Audit review of aircraft documentation and work packs
  • Accomplishing such other duties as may be reasonably directed by the Accountable Manager & Directors
  • Projecting the Company image and promoting the Company interests to customers and potential customers
  • Ensuring compliance and safety initiatives are integrated with the companies commercial objectives, supporting sustainable growth without compromising regulatory adherence
  • Management of the Company Quality Audit programme
  • Monitoring of service providers to ensure the required standards are being met
  • Liaison with departmental managers concerning the correction of any deficiencies highlighted through the Quality System
  • Acting as a focal point for all communication with the NAA's in respect to quality and certification matters

Ideal candidates profile:

  • Previous Quality Manager experience within a busy component MRO facility
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance and repair environmental line maintenance & component workshops
  • Experience in management and quality control/quality assurance activities of aircraft maintenance and repair organisations
  • Successful completion of a Quality System Course i.e. Auditor/Lead Auditor course
  • Thorough knowledge of International and National Civil Aviation legislation, EASA, FAA & TCAA
  • Ability to prioritise and handle pressure
  • Conform to part 145, Annex II (AMC)
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office packages
