We are seeking a dedicated MFL (French) Teacher to join a caring and hard-working Secondary School in the Nelson area. This full-time temporary position requires a passionate educator who can deliver high-quality teaching in MFL at KS3 and KS4 levels. The role commences in September 2024, with working hours from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. The role is for either 6 or 12 weeks depending on the return of the permanent member of staff.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Preparing, planning, and delivering high-standard MFL lessons to ensure the continuous development of pupils.
  • Marking and monitoring classwork, setting targets for future progress.
  • Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers.
  • Understanding the needs of all pupils and monitoring their progress in line with the school's practices.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong knowledge of teaching MFL at KS3 and KS4.
  • Recent relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and able to act as a good role model for students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
