SEN Teaching Assistant

Join a successful department as an SEN Teaching Assistant, where you'll provide tailored support to students, including those with special educational needs (SEN), fostering both their academic progress and personal development.

Duration: This position starts as a long-term temporary role, with the potential for permanent placement following an initial period working with the school via our partnership with Classroom Support.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Candidates should possess prior experience supporting children with diverse needs, including those with challenging behaviours, and demonstrate the ability to establish positive connections with students who may face difficulties in engagement.
  • Previous experience in either a Mainstream or SEN school environment is advantageous.
  • Ideal candidates will exhibit a balanced approach of firmness and empathy, adept at setting boundaries while offering compassionate support.
  • Experience in assisting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is highly desirable.
  • Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a DBS check with a children's barred list check, registered with the update service.

Working Hours: Availability required Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
