Our client is a fantastic UK leading FMCG business supplying all the major retailers. Due to continued growth and success, they want to grow the business again.

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will support the Quality Manager in monitoring processes and products against site procedures and Quality Contracts through auditing and supporting interdepartmental teams. Providing training in specialist subjects such as Metal Detection, Weights and Measures, paperwork completion and segregation ensuring the company's due diligence, food safety, and product integrity/quality of all products.

Quality Assurance Technician (Days) - Requirements

  • FMCG experience, Food Industry (desirable)
  • Level 3 Food Safety
  • Level 2 HACCP
  • Labelling and Packaging legalities
  • Basic Environmental and Product Microbiology
  • COSHH Training
  • Train the Trainer or similar certification
  • 852/2004 the Hygiene of Foodstuffs
  • Food Safety Act 1990
  • TACCP and VACCP
  • Validation and Verification
  • Internal Auditing
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy
  • A passion for sharing knowledge and raising standards
  • Intermediate experience with Excel and reporting systems
  • Leads by example
  • Experience within a manufacturing bakery
  • Task orientated and a complete finisher
  • Decision making

Quality Assurance Technician (Days) - Responsibilities

  • Duties include but not limited to - Monitoring all (FMCG Food) products and processes to ensure working to standards and legal requirements
  • Carrying out internal audits & legal compliance verification checks on equipment such as temperature probes, scales and fridges across the site & escalate/action where necessary
  • Working as a support function to operations to ensure hygiene levels of the facility are maintained by conducting GMP/Glass and Hard Plastic and Fabrication audits
  • Carrying out sampling and swabbing & leading on investigations corrections -preventative procedures
  • To be the subject matter expert for CCP controls & weight controls & deliver training
  • Maintaining records, audits & reports
  • Conduct PQE assessments (required frequency & and legal compliance)
  • Update the Technical board at the required frequency to inform/ make operators aware of progress or non-conformities that have occurred and how they are performing against manufacturing standards
  • Attend the daily KPI meetings and highlight any discrepancies
  • Logging non-conformances (communicated, investigated, and closed)
