Reed Accountancy & Finance are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to support our client during a busy period of transition. This role is based on the outskirts of Ashford and is ideal for a Assistant Accountant who is immediately available to step into a fast-paced environment.
Assistant Accountant Day to day of the role:
- Match, batch, and code purchase ledger invoices with precision.
- Handle sales ledger invoices, ensuring they are matched, batched, and coded accurately.
- Conduct daily banking activities and maintain accurate records.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
- Prepare and record journal entries and prepayments.
- Manage VAT returns in compliance with regulations.
- Prepare payroll information to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Process journals, prepayments and accruals
- Reconcile cash book entries and resolve any discrepancies.
Assistant Accountant Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an Assistant Accountant role or similar.
- Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes.
- Proficient in daily banking and bank reconciliations.
- Knowledge of preparing journals, prepayments, and VAT returns.
- Familiarity with payroll preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Immediate availability to take on a temporary assignment.
