Senior Site Chemist

Reed Scientific is working with a leading national waste management company, based in Oxfordshire. They are looking to take on another Senior Site Chemist to support their growing team. In this role you assist with the day-to-day operation of the transfer station – receiving incoming consignments of waste, checking documentation, completing waste transfer notes and raising any non-conformances.

This is a full time, Monday-Friday, permanent role and pays an attractive salary with excellent benefits, with great scope for progression into management based on experience and training you will gain onsite.

The successful applicant will ideally have a Bachelor's Chemistry or HND in Chemistry (or related discipline) and have a minimum of 2-3 years working with hazardous waste disposal. Holding an ADR license and DGSA qualification would be highly favoured, however training can be provided. Due to the nature of this role, you must hold a full UK driving license to be considered.

Duties would include (but not limited to):

  • Listing, segregating and packing waste for collection by our drivers on customer sites
  • Driving company vans to collect small waste consignments
  • Operating vehicles & machinery around the yard for unloading/loading
  • Helping to plan daily tasks for site operators
  • Mentor and train Technical Chemists and Operators
  • Assist the with the management of day-to-day operations
  • Assisting with contractor management on site
