We have an exciting opportunity for a confident Future Skills professional to join a leading employer in the Reading area in the role of Head of Future Talent. This is a newly created position to develop strategy around future skills planning, professional development, career pathways, early careers and apprenticeships.
There is great scope to make an impact, effect change and have strategic input in this role. We are looking for someone who will really get to know the business and the people, identify current and future skills needs, and build a strategy to future-proof the organisation. Key areas of focus will include reskilling / upskilling in relation to digital and technical skills, AI, and growth and innovation, across multiple business areas including contact centre and technical teams.
Responsibilities will include;
- Talent mapping / analysis of current and future skills needs, making recommendations to fill potential gaps
- Identifying and building a pipeline including both new talent and internal talent
- Identifying critical internal talent and implementing processes to ensure the engagement, retention and development of same
- Developing the apprenticeships and early careers strategy in order to create a pipeline of talent coming into the business in critical skills areas
- Reviewing professional development policies and engagement strategy to increase retention
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience within Talent Development with a focus on Future Skills
- Have good knowledge of apprenticeships
- Possess excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence
