We have an exciting new opportunity for an experience Bid Writer to join our highly successful Creative Lab team supporting and producing creative, strategic, solution based bid proposals.

Reporting into the Bid Team Manager the successful Bid Writer with work in conjunction with the Sales and Retention Lead supporting the development of win strategies and persuasive delivery structures, creating bid guidelines and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

As a Bid Writer you will be responsible for ensuring that bid responses are written in a style and format to ensure

  • Clarity of win themes and client WITY (What's Important To You)
  • Consistency across multiple answers, in terms of language and messaging
  • Responses are proofread and edited appropriately
  • Quantifiable evidence to support our proposed solution
  • Professionally written and structures responses to questions which maximise ease of reading and award of marks by evaluator
  • Deployment of best practice writing techniques
  • Ownership of designated questions, review, edit and enhance all answers ensuring that there is an introduction and summary for each section where relevant

The successful Bid Writer will be ambitious, inquisitive, passionate and organised with the ability to build relationships quickly and effectively. Able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team and lead SMEs and operators to support the successful delivery of the bid programme.

Essential attributes:

  • Expert writing skills and attention to detail
  • 5 years + writing/editing experience
  • Proven track record working on and winning complex, high value bids
  • Creative, strategic thinking and ability to look at different ways of doing things
  • Appropriate experience in tender management methodology
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-service scenarios and to think clearly under pressure
  • Willingness to travel when required

Highly desirable attributes:

  • Experience working on high value bids £1m+
  • Professional bid management training
  • High value public sector bid experience
  • Soft FM, Hard FM, contract catering, hospitality, professional services or construction bid writing experience
  • Advanced Word and Microsoft system skills
