Our client, a business specialising in the repair and service of turbochargers, has a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer to join their expanding dynamic company. This is a permanent role based in the Southampton area, with extensive international travel expected. The position involves substantial time away from home, making flexibility essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and repair of turbochargers
- Working on turbochargers installed in a variety of places
- Minimising downtime by potentially working for sustained periods to meet customer needs
- Conducting tasks at the company's workshop and living within commuting distance
Job Requirements:
- Experience in marine engineering positions would be an advantage
- Experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB/Accelleron, MAN or MET
- Experience with new generation turbochargers (desired)
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Willingness to spend long periods away from home, including weekends
- Experience using measuring equipment and comparing results against expected data
- Excellent written and spoken English with report writing skills
- Holding a valid UK driving licence
