Our client is a leading insurance group who help protect industries around the world from the risks they face. With UK headquarters in London, they also have international offices in Bermuda, Copenhagen, Dubai, and Singapore, and have doubled in size over the last four years.

Due to exciting and exciting merger we are looking to vastly improve all of our infrastructure and all of our Documentation of user guides, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures. This has led us to here wanting to recruit for an experienced Technical Writer/Technical Author (IT Infrastructure) to take on a key role within the business.

As the new Technical Writer/Technical Author (IT Infrastructure) you will be joining on an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of extension. You will be joining a market-leading company going through exciting change and growth. The Technical Writer/Technical Author (IT Infrastructure) will play a crucial role in creating clear, concise and comprehensive technical documentation to the business.

As our new Technical Writer/Technical Author (IT Infrastructure) you will be responsible on a daily basis for:

  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including CTG Technology Operations policies, user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPS), system manuals, troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of technical documentation by adhering to established standards and guidelines.
  • Update and revise existing documentation as necessary to reflect changes in technology, processes, or procedures.
  • Work close with cross functional CTG teams such as the EUC, M365, Service Operations (Level 1 & Level 2 Support), Networks, Storage & Compute, DBA, Solutions Delivery (Applications Development, Test & Support) & Security team, to gather input and feedback on documentation needs.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal documentation repositories, document templates and style guides.

To be considered for the role of Technical Writer/Technical Author (IT Infrastructure) you must have proven experience in a similar IT Operations environment. Ideally you will have a certification in Technical writing though hands-on experience is more valuable. Any familiarity with standards such as SOX, DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001 would be beneficial though not crucial.
