An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to join a market leader within Procurement Supply Chain, for a company who provide solutions within the hospitality and food industry.

This company are owned by the largest catering company in the world, and they are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join their team to look after their client base. You will have two more junior members of staff you will be overseeing whilst be working with one or two major accounts. Your role is to be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, ensuring the efficient running of your supply chain whilst supporting the Client Services Director.

You will play a pivotal part in driving the growth and success of the business. You will be working closely with customers to identify and convert new business opportunities although this is mainly a Senior Account Manager role.

We are looking for a Senior Account Manager who also enjoys supervising and mentoring as part of their role. Your clients will be restaurants and hospitality venues so someone who has looked after these types of industries would be ideal.

The core objective is to retain and grow your accounts by managing all day-to-day issues by providing relevant, timely and accurate information.

As a senior member of the team, you will support the Client Services Director by sharing knowledge and experience to assist junior members of the team to learn and develop.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To create effective Account Plans and to use these as tactical tools to retain & grow existing business
  • Mentoring and supporting more Junior Account Managers
  • Closely managing Price; Quality & Service with each assigned customer through: Price Checking of new contract SKU's, Invoice Checking Audits to ensure suppliers are upholding agreed tendered prices.
  • Managing suppliers against agreed SLA's and take ownership of any day-to-day supply and quality issues and to resolve with the relevant supplier
  • Assisting with the mobilisation of any new wins/business
  • Attending customer meetings
  • Offer and assist customers with the companies online ordering systems (Freshmarket, Marketman, Procure Wizard, Fourth etc.) You will be shown how to assist with this

This would be ideal for someone with a passion/Interest in Food/ Keeps abreast of new food developments and trends. Has a natural and keen interest in food and is confident in their ability to explore new food concepts.

We are looking for:

Sales or Account Management experience essential

Team Leader, Supervisor, Senior or manager experience essential

Experience of working with Restaurants, Hotels , or Hospitality venues - ideally

Hospitality experience preferable but not essential

Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Excel but also Word, Outlook and Power-point

Analytical and numerate able to work with spreadsheets

Friendly and outgoing, confident at holding client meetings

Driving license
