Pre-Litigation Advisor

Jo Holdsworth Recruitment are currently working with an award winning debt recovery company based in the heart of Leeds. The company focuses on their clients and making sure they are receiving the best service possible whilst using the latest technology to ensure things can run smoothly. Being a results driven company means they aim firstly to collect pre-legally but where this is not possible utilise their legal status and power through the litigation and insolvency route.

They are a highly ambitious company and aim to be the leaders within their field of expertise. Due to success, they are looking to grow their successful team by recruiting a Debt Collection Advisor on a full time and permanent basis. This opportunity will allow you to join a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to grow and progress throughout the company.

This is a perfect role for somebody with legal experience or someone who has worked within a debt collection role previously.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with and managing a diverse portfolio of clients and debts in all sectors. From Pre-legal right through to litigation and enforcement and insolvency proceedings. Upon starting, you will be responsible for handling between 100-150 cases with the view to grow and develop this long term.
  • Building rapport with our clients on commercial debt portfolios and negotiate fair, affordable repayment solutions in line with clients' expectations and targets as well as engaging with clients with a positive can-do attitude to help them achieve the right outcome
  • Full ownership of your respective workload and designated clients is actively encouraged
  • Bringing in fees to assist the department in hitting its more than achievable billing target
  • All client management including reviews and strategy sessions
  • Actively promote the firm's brand with existing clients and externally attending events when required
  • Assist on system and procedural changes when required

Experience Needed:

  • You will have previous debt recovery experience or customer service experience with full knowledge of the debt recovery process
  • Experience with dealing with contested debt is desirable but not essential
  • The candidate should be confident and positive in their manner
  • Comfortable on the phone both calling in-bound and outbound
  • You must possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate
  • Flexibility to be able to adapt to different client requests
  • You will demonstrate empathy and understand the client's needs
  • You will have a passion for client service and be a team player
  • You will have strong problem-solving skills as well as influencing and negotiation skills
  • You will work to achievable targets and understand KPI's in a competitive environment
