Our client is a small and mighty team working together to provide essential support and services to the homeless and insecurely housed in the Southward and Lambeth community. They are seeking a highly organised Marketing Administrator who can support day to day admin and help the Marketing and Communication efforts of the Charity.

There are two main functions to this role, the administration component and the Marketing/Communications component.

The purpose of the administrator component is to effectively support the day-to-day operations of the charity and be first point of contact for general enquiries.

The purpose of the Marketing / Communications component is to create and present communications about the charity to a wide audience through a number of different means, such as social media, newsletters and short videos. This post will include interviewing / filming / photography of guests, volunteers and other supporters.

Marketing / Communications

  • Maintenance of mailing list and performing mail outs to supporters
  • Creation and mail out of the Charity newsletter
  • Supporting with updating the website
  • Creation and publishing of regular appropriate social media posts
  • Interviewing guests and volunteers (including corporate)
  • Creation of small videos for promotion purposes
  • Supporting events such as the AGM or Volunteer Thank You Event

Administrator

  • Data entry of shelter attendance
  • Supporting with creation of resource and information packs for guests, volunteers and general public
  • Participate in the emergency "on call" rota
  • Taking minutes of meetings
  • Post and general office management
  • Banking

Occasionally, some evening or weekend work may be required.

This is an essential role which supports the team to achieve amazing outcomes for those experiencing homelessness, and showcases the work that they do.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Ability to work as part of a team, and on your own initiative
  • Excellent organisational, with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with drive and enthusiasm for helping others
  • Excellent IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new IT systems, applications and databases
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to tell a compelling story to our supporters
  • An understanding and commitment to professionality and confidentiality (including GDPR)
  • Able to work in a flexible and adaptable way, with a creative and solutions focussed approach
  • A flair for the creative
  • Experience is promoting an organisation

The ideal candidate will have the below experience, however are not essential:

  • Lived experience of homelessness
  • Experience working within the charity sector
  • Previous experience in creating social media posts
  • Previous experience of working with Canva and Adobe Illustrator
