Join our client's kitchen team as an Chef de Partie at a leading events venue nestled in the beautiful Essex countryside near Kelvedon. Our client offers versatile event spaces for weddings, private hire, corporate events, and has an onsite restaurant, all committed to delivering top-notch services to customers.

As they continue to expand, they seek a talented and experienced Chef to contribute to the production of the highest possible food quality in the delegated section. They will also be responsible for the staff in their section and need to coordinate and delegate duties to ensure their section runs smoothly, and is in constant communication with other sections to ensure faultless timings and a good level of collaboration at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and correctly garnish all food orders as they are received in accordance with menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation.
  • Prepares all kitchen dishes; controls the positioning and rotation of foods and ensures proper plate presentation.
  • Orders adequate supplies for the kitchen, is delivered on time and all food items have been labelled and dated to ensure freshness
  • Supervises the proper set-up of each item on menus and ensures their readiness.
  • Sets up for service by ensuring proper amounts are in place for forecasted covers, special functions and all reservations. Follows proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
  • Adheres to standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, presentation and sets up "mise-en-place" for service.
  • Works with the Chefs in the kitchen to ensure seasoning, portions, and appearance of food.
  • To ensure that your food cooked in the restaurant kitchen is the standard that the exec chef has set.
  • Maintains an exact record of preparation, cooking and presentation specifications of all dishes produced in the section in a file which is kept at the section at all times for reference.
  • Co-ordinates job tasks with staff in their own section and help fellow employees to achieve optimum quality.
  • Recommends better preparation procedures to Head Chef
  • Maintains own working area, materials and company property clean, tidy and in good shape; reports defective materials and equipment to the Head Chef.
  • Attend any meeting or training session as required by kitchen seniors and Management.
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by your senior chef and the exec chef.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a fast paced kitchen.
  • Knows how to follow applicable laws regarding food safety and sanitation.
  • Flexibility to work when needed and assist in workload of others
  • Excellent command of English language (Written and spoken)
  • COSSH Training (our client can provide it as well)
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP
  • Ability to communicate with customers and peers with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Flexible and committed.
  • Lively, enthusiastic and confident.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations successfully.
  • Good organisational skills

Benefits:

  • Our client offers a competitive remuneration package, based on previous experience and qualifications, offering a salary of £23,000-£26,000 per annum.
