Inventory and Finance Analyst

We are looking to recruit a Stock Inventory and Finance Analyst who will play a critical role in linking inventory control with financial performance across the business. This position ensures the accuracy of stock movements, landed cost calculations, and financial reporting, while actively supporting operational integrity and strategic decision-making. The role interfaces cross-functionally with finance, logistics, procurement, and commercial teams to drive profitability, compliance, and inventory efficiency.

Overview of the role

The role is primarily dealing with stock inventory related matters but from the focus of accounting transactions. So the ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, and will have worked with warehousing/transport or logistics departments. You will also be supporting the department with other accounting functions, including monthly reconciliations and management accounts

Key Responsibilities:

Inbound Stock

  • Daily comparison of goods in reports from warehouse, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Liaising with warehouse, transport companies and the purchasing team to ensure all deliveries have the appropriate paperwork and to meet our statutory responsibilities
  • Ensuring we have all relevant invoices and paperwork for all inbound stock
  • Review import documentation to ensure calculations are accurate
  • Booking inbound stock in at the correct value
  • Monitor all open documents within SAP, ensuring any delays are recorded and appropriate action taken

Outbound Stock

  • Daily comparison of dispatch reports from warehouse, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Liaising with warehouse, transport companies and the fulfilment team to ensure all deliveries have the appropriate paperwork to allow invoices to be raised and to meet our statutory responsibilities
  • Investigate all customer discrepancies until resolution
  • Monitor all open documents within SAP, liaising with appropriate department to ensuring information is up to date and accurate

Stock Management

  • Complete regular stock reconciliations across all our warehouses, investigating any discrepancies and completing the relevant adjustments on SAP
  • Support stock takes
  • Managing FIFO with warehouses and ensuring all stock is following the rule and monitoring expiry dates where applicable
  • Complete regular stock ageing analysis and manage stock provision
  • Complete all relevant stock transfers, adjustments and revaluations where applicable

Management Accounts

  • Assist with month end reconciliations to ensure accuracy of management accounts
  • Accurately calculate landed costs for imported goods, factoring in freight, duty, insurance, customs, and logistics
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations to ensure accurate management accounts
  • Provide holiday cover for others within the team
  • Any other stock & financial administration as required

Data & Systems Management

  • Ensure SAP and financial systems are updated with accurate stock costs and landed cost allocations
  • Maintain and update standard costing models in response to supplier, shipping, and duty changes
  • Monitor open documents and resolve delays or inaccuracies through cross-team collaboration.

Team Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with finance, supply chain, and commercial departments to support end-to-end inventory and cost control processes
  • Provide ad hoc analysis, financial reporting, and support during audits or staff absences.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong financial and inventory analysis skills
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong process ownership.
  • Effective communicator across finance, operations, and warehouse teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, data modelling).
  • Proficient in SAP B1 and stock-related modules.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in stock control, cost analysis, or financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with landed cost calculation and supply chain cost drivers is essential.
  • Industry experience in beauty, retail, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) is highly desirable
