The Role

Working as part of a team of more experienced consultants in all areas of pension consulting work for corporate and trustee clients. Provide and deliver advise on the design, funding, administration and communication of pension schemes; helping clients manage a variety of benefit related risks; guiding Clients when formulating the shape of future pension provisions and delivering innovative solutions

  • Work with Partners and senior consultants to set Client objectives in all areas of pension schemes, identifying and helping to overcome barriers to achieving them.
  • Prepare for and attend, as required, company/trustee/governance committee meetings providing advice and guidance in respect of company pensions.
  • Support the implementation of tailor-made Client solutions, providing effective communication explaining the thinking behind recommended strategies and continuous dialogue to achieve the desired results on time and within budget.
  • Determine probability and assess risks explaining the implications of this work to Clients and advising them on risk limitation using mathematical modelling techniques.
  • Allow Clients to fully understand the funding positions of their scheme by preparing for trustees and/ or companies: specific calculations; funding updates; and valuations
  • Enable Clients to understand any pension changes and how best to communicate these to their employees and enable scheme members to be accurately informed of their benefits by drafting reports; preparing literature using a full range of techniques; and providing clear, concise and unequivocal verbal and written guidance  Preparation as and when required to ensure compliance is adhered to and Clients are provided with detailed information in respect of their scheme.

Experience and Qualifications

  •  General Education Equivalent to Graduate, Maths, Economics, Financial or Science.
  • CT series plus generally 2 years or more experience
  •  Experience in pension and actuarial consulting
  • Understanding of commercial pressures
