SALARY: £30,859 per annum FTE / Actual Annual Salary £26,467 per annum

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm, Term Time only (39 weeks)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative School Inclusion Managerwith experience working in secondary education, ideally within an inclusion or pastoral role, strong leadership and team-building abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.

Working as the School Inclusion Manager you will coordinate and support school strategies for vulnerable children. You will also work with the Senior Leadership Team to address the needs of children who need support to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside school in order to achieve their full potential.

As the School Inclusion Manager you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative educational strategies tailored to meet the needs of students who have struggled to thrive in the mainstream school. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the highest quality education and support.

This leadership role is focused on implementing a transformative approach to learning in a smaller, nurturing space, where students are able to focus on not only academic learning and skills but also those for life.

DUTIES

Your responsibilities as the School Inclusion Manager will include:

  • Lead and manage the additional provision team to deliver outstanding educational outcomes
  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans for students, focusing on academic, social, and emotional development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement and well-being
  • Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and caregivers to provide holistic support for students
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the provision, implementing improvements where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Develop and lead the focus on reflective and restorative practices, and positive reinforcement
  • Train and coach staff in utilising restorative practices to address student behaviour concerns
  • Facilitate restorative conversations to address conflict and build positive relationships between students and staff
  • Oversee the identification and implementation of behaviour support plans students with additional needs and challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop inclusive teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting student well-being and behaviour

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working in secondary education, ideally within an inclusion or pastoral role
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a focus on collaboration and professional development
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
