Job Role: IT Support Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 (DOE) Location: Sheffield Contract: Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday
Verus Recruitment is excited to partner with a well-established accountancy firm seeking an IT Support and Security Specialist for their Sheffield office.
In this role, you'll be integral in maintaining the efficiency and security of IT systems. You'll provide technical support, manage backups, oversee antivirus and endpoint security, and ensure systems remain current and secure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily assistance for user queries and technical issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Manage and test backups using Veeam to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Oversee antivirus and endpoint security to protect all systems from threats.
- Apply security patches and manage admin rights to maintain system security.
- Perform software updates for industry-specific programs on SQL servers, ensuring all applications are up-to-date.
- Manage Windows Server environments, including Hyper-V, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and group policies.
- Administer firewall rules and exceptions to safeguard network integrity.
- Manage email filtering and handle exceptions to protect against phishing and spam.
- Set up and deploy PCs and software for new and existing employees.
- Occasionally travel to branch offices to provide on-site support and maintenance.
About You:
- At least 3 years of experience in an IT role with a strong background in technical support and security practices.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Servers, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and group policies.
- A valid UK driving license for occasional travel to branch offices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex IT issues.
