Aspire People are working with a specialist with Shifnal, Shropshire to recruit confident and experienced Teaching Assistants to support with creating inclusive environment for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive self-esteem.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils.
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to reviews.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
- Patient, understanding and adaptability.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a specialist setting or similar role.
- Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or special educational needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
