Description
- Act as point of contact with the Information Commissioner's Office.
- Monitor data management procedures and ensure they comply with GDPR and UK data protection laws.
- Provide advice and instructions to staff about data protection.
- Ensure data protection policies are in place and updated as required.
- Provide data protection awareness training to staff members.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues proactively.
- Manage and draft date protection impact assessments.
- Manage data protection projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure data protection compliance.a
Profile
- A successful Data Protection Officer should have:
- An academic background in law, IT or related field.
- Proven experience in a data protection role within the Legal industry.
- Expert knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws.
- Sound understanding of IT and data management systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, non-legalistic language.
