Gi Group Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a SEND and Exam Access Arrangements Assessor to our client based in Rotherham. The SEND and Exam Access Arrangements Assessor will work within the Additional Learning Support Team and will work collaboratively with learners, their families, schools, colleagues and external agencies to identify and design a support plan for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to support with pre-entry and on-programme support to aid achievement of planned outcomes and progression.

Duties of the SEND and Exam Access Arrangements Assessor:

Role Criteria:

  • Carry out the relevant specialist exam access arrangement assessments for learners where required; including Wide Range Achievement Testing (WRAT's), and the associated reports in-line with the JCQ Regulations.
  • Ensure that ALS disclosures are screened timely and additional learning support appointments are conducted.
  • Identify, assess and recommend ALS strategies to reduce barriers to learning, considering recommendations from EHCPs, referrals, disclosures and the learner and family's needs and wishes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure early identification of learners' individual support needs in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and wider support departments to ensure the ALS recommendations are deployed and learners are supported as per their ALS plans and EHCP's.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience in supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Experience and understanding of making safeguarding referrals
  • Experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • A proven ability ton plan, prepare and implement support programmes/assessments as an when required
  • A specialist qualification in SEND
  • Minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
