Sea Global are proud to be partnering with one of the UK's leading housing and procurement organisations, who have rich history and work to create efficiencies and savings for clients within the social housing sector predominantly.

Over the past few years they have grown tremendously in size, now with over 180 clients, they are looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to the Technical Services team. They are ideally looking for someone with experience within the housing sector that will be able to provide crucial technical and commercial support to the wider team.

Reporting into the Head of Technical Services, the successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues, consultants, and contractors to prepare and critique Framework pricing models and Invitations to Tender for mini competition. You will facilitate the successful execution of contracts to deliver their members asset management and construction projects as well as support the development and management of the companies core suite of pricing models and contracts.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop appropriate pricing methods and models for frameworks and projects that encourage supply chain engagement.
  • Quality check tender cost models for frameworks, mini-competitions, and direct call-offs to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintain a register of benchmark prices for key services, informed by cost models and contract feedback.
  • Estimate costs for construction projects and create, review, and improve contract documentation.
  • Advise on contractual aspects, prepare contract documents, and participate in tender evaluations.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial and reputational risks in procurement activities.
  • Keep up-to-date with housing and construction sector legislation and innovations.
  • Attend project and team meetings and conduct occasional site visits.

Experience & Requirements

  • You will have a demonstrable working knowledge of Housing, Asset Management, and Newbuild projects.
  • Experience with standard forms of contracts, their administration, operation and determining selection.
  • Knowledgeable of market rates and the ability to scrutinise, benchmark and challenge tender submissions.
  • Standard methods of measurement, bespoke pricing models and national schedules of rates.
  • At least 5 years' post qualification experience within the Construction Industry to include pre and post contract Quantity Surveying duties
  • Experience of the affordable housing sector from a client and/or contractor perspective, in relation to asset management and technical services
