Director of IT at Berkhamsted Schools Group

The Opportunity:

As a visionary digital technologist and strategic leader, you will be an integral part of the Senior Management Team (SMT). You'll work closely with the Group Director of EdTech and the Deputy Head for Teaching and Innovation, placing you at the heart of developing IT maturity and leveraging and adopting new technologies.

This career-defining role offers the chance to make a significant impact. You'll enhance teaching, learning, and support services in a digitally innovative environment while working with a pro-technology Principal and SMT.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a healthy budget covering all technology across the group.
  • Lead on Cyber Security Strategy and risk management.
  • Lead a team of 16 technology experts across various domains, including IT support, Digital Innovation, Infrastructure, Business Systems, Automation, Data (iSAMS), and Theatre.
  • Collaborate with the IT Strategy Group and IT User Groups.
  • Drive the implementation of Automation (MS Power Platform) and other new technologies like AI.
  • Comprehensive use of M365 tools (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Azure).
  • Oversee the ongoing 121 device provision throughout the group.
  • Manage large-scale systems integration.

Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise or relevant knowledge.
  • A solid understanding of IT Security protocols and the ongoing risks posed by cyber crime
  • Ensure the IT Strategy aligns with the school's strategic vision.
  • Experience in leading and supporting staff, team building, and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrable continuous process improvement and project management skills.
  • Candidates without education sector experience are welcome but must demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding and school nuances.
