Legal Counsel / Contracts Manager
Part-time (3 or 4 days per week); full time also considered.

£50K-£55K (full time equivalent)
Based in Bath
The role
Commercial:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts including customer and supplier agreements, terms and conditions, long term agreements, heads of terms and non-disclosure agreements.
- Supporting the sales and purchase teams on tenders, contract negotiations and contract management.
- Advising on potential disputes.
Other legal:
- Involvement as required in a variety of other legal areas, including property/lease matters, trusts, environmental queries and intellectual property.
- Assisting on the development of Company precedents and policies.
- Advising on compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Interpreting and advising on relevant new legislation in all areas.
Company Secretarial:
- Support to company secretarial function including share transfers and corporate filings at Companies House.
- Assistance with draft Board and Management agendas and minutes.
- Assistance with organising and running of the AGM
Requirements
- The main focus is finding a commercial legal professional, so the company is open to hiring either a qualified solicitor, an experienced paralegal or contracts manager.
- Experience of UK export control and licensing issues a bonus but not essential.
- Commercial awareness and ability to make sound judgements on contract issues and level of acceptable risk.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
- Confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
