Summary

We're looking for a Gardener to join the team at Ickworth. Using your horticultural skills, you'll enhance our very diverse gardens, which include a unique Italianate Garden, the Albana Walk and a walled garden which we are gradually restoring.

Your commitment to high standards will impress our visitors and your enthusiasm to draw on history will ensure that our plans are delivered in the best possible way.

There may be a need for you to work weekends, evenings and public or bank holidays. Your line manager will be able to confirm the frequency required.

What it's like to work here

Reporting to the Head Gardener, you'll work closely with other Gardeners, Senior Gardener, volunteers and Head Gardener.

You'll join a small team of staff, supported by a large group of volunteers. A strong commitment to teamwork is therefore essential. Ickworth is a stunning location to work in and this is your opportunity to enrich the gardens' beauty as one of our Gardeners. What you'll be doing

As a Gardener, your days will be very varied but will include: planting, tending, mowing, propagating, pruning and so much more.

Your interactions with visitors and volunteers will be extremely important. Our visitors are eager to learn more about the gardens here and so questions and conversations will certainly arise.
