Are you a detail-oriented and self-motivated Assistant Management Accountant looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a professional with a passion for financial accuracy and business support to join our team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial records, processing payments, and producing internal financial reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic environment and contribute to the financial health of the company.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Timely completion of monthly Branch payrolls, management accounts preparation, payment runs, and VAT reporting.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheets and intercompany transactions.
  • Management of Accounts Administrators and oversight of sales and purchase ledger processing.
  • Responsibility for month-end adjustments, including processing accruals and prepayments.
  • Monitoring the finance inbox and addressing queries as required.
  • Assisting with VAT return production and overseeing Accountable transactions.
  • Producing labour utilisation, sales graphs, and other operational management reports.
  • Flexibility to cover colleagues' absence and take on additional duties where necessary.
  • Ensuring all financial regulations are complied with at all times and undertaking other related duties as allocated.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting.
  • Confidence with accounting systems, Sage Intacct desirable.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Technical accounting knowledge and experience in multi-entity accounting.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain financial aspects to non-financial colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented, self-reflective, and proactive with a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and deliver goals and objectives.
  • Team player with the ability to supervise and support other team members.
  • Dynamic, flexible, and eager to empower others and improve processes.
