A well-established organisation based in Durham is looking for a motivated and experienced Business Support Manager for an exciting opportunity working as part of a busy, friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis. Your new role
The Business Support Manager spends their time working between the two office sites based in Durham, with occasional additional travel to other sites in the UK. As the Business Support Manager, your job will be to assist in the achievement of business objectives by providing effective administrative support to the Managing Director, and the wider senior management team within the department. The Business Support Manager is the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries to the Managing Director, email and calendar management, creating reports, taking accurate minutes at senior meetings and board preparation. The Business Support Manager leads a team of Site Administrators to effectively support the smooth running of day-to-day operations at our sites/offices. The Business Support Manager works in collaboration with the Site Administrators to support the team with system improvements, capturing accurate data, providing administrative support for projects and initiatives, and striving towards continuous improvement and new ways of working.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships.
  • Previous experience managing a small team of administrators.
  • Wealth of admin experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Previous experience with system improvements and streamlining processes.
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion.
  • Professionalism and ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-organised, efficient and meticulous
  • The ability to handle conflicting priorities and work calmly under workload pressure.
  • Be an active team player, supporting the team and providing encouragement.
  • Ability to manage your own workload and your time effectively.
  • A proactive and positive can-do attitude
  • A self-starter, with the willingness to continually develop professional skills.
  • Comfortable travelling to various sites/office locations as and when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail
