Our client, a leading retail business in the West Midlands is looking for an Interim Financial Controls Accountant to support improvements in their control environment. This person will sit within the finance team to embed key financial controls frameworks in light of recent corporate governance reform.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Finance Controls Accountant ( ICFR Project)
- Review the design of key financial controls through process walkthroughs and discussions with control owners and Global Process Owners
- Design the annual control monitoring programme including testing, self-assessment and continuous controls monitoring
- Ongoing review, update and improvement of internal control methodology and ways of working
- Responsible for shaping and embedding Key Financial Controls Framework across Finance
- Work collaboratively across several stakeholders to provide expert guidance on financial controls design
- Working with the finance team to ensure controls are embedded in new processes and system implementations
- Supporting our controls culture by developing and running training, providing information sessions and building control communities
Key Essentials of the Interim Finance Controls Accountant ( ICFR Project)
- Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Experience working in licensed trade, FMCG or retail environments is desirable
- Technical knowledge and training in financial reporting
