Assistant Accountant
- Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC)
- Location: Rochester
- Availability: Immediate start required
We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Rochester. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and organised individual who is immediately available to join our team. Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred, as this will provide valuable insight into the unique financial processes of our sector.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Support the finance team with bookkeeping tasks, including posting journal entries and maintaining ledgers.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable.
- Participate in the budgeting process and financial forecasting.
- Help with the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related duties.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and controls.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
- Immediate availability to start the contract.
- Experience within the manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Relevant accounting qualifications (AAT, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) are desirable.
