We are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for mechanical design, looking to develop their skills in a practical environment. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential for success in this position.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Design and develop sheet metal products and special purpose machinery using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to refine design processes and enhance product functionality.
- Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
- Participate in prototype development and perform testing to ensure designs meet required standards.
- Engage with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure components meet quality and cost specifications.
- Provide support to the production team during the assembly process to resolve any design-related issues.
- Continuously improve design skills and knowledge of industry trends and advancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of special purpose machinery design is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the field of mechanical design engineering.
- MUST be eligible to work in the UK - unable to support sponsorship at any stage.
